Generating leads is what gives your company the chance of new business. Whether it is someone that was recommended to you, saw an advertisement, or found your business organically, every lead is invaluable.

As long as your conversion rate remains steady, the more leads you have the more business you will have and this grows exponentially.

Here are 5 ways that your company can generate leads:

1. Search Engine Optimization:

Search engine optimization or “SEO” is one of the primary ways that you can drive traffic to your site.

By using SEO tactics, you can begin to rank higher in Google for various searches and ultimately rank higher for keywords regarding your business.

When done right, SEO will begin to generate leads naturally.

For example, let’s say you’re a landscaping service. There is a direct need for that service and people who are in need of it typically search things like “landscaping” or “landscaping service”.

If you rank highly for this, it’s likely that more people will consider your business as your site will reach more people who are looking for that service.

You can also utilize your location when practicing SEO. So if you’re a landscaping service out of St. Louis for instance, you could try and rank for searches like “landscaping St. Louis” or “landscaping service STL”.

The beauty of SEO is that it has vast room for growth and will provide you with leads organically.

Once your rankings on Google and other search engines begin to rise they will continue to rise as long as you keep improving on what you are doing.

This will cause the amount of leads you are getting to grow exponentially due to your increase in traffic.

2. Content Marketing:

Another way to generate leads is with content marketing. Things such as blog posts, podcasts, webinars, and more can greatly increase the amount of traffic to your site and in turn generate more leads.

Even though visitors coming to your website to read a blog post might not be as far along in the buying process as someone searching directly for it, these visitors are still invaluable as they might develop the need for your service overtime or share your content with others.

Like SEO, content marketing will generate you more and more leads over time and help you grow organically.

This content can develop a following which means people will be coming back to your site time and time again or on a regular basis.

So far this article has talked about how you can generate leads organically. Paid advertising also has its place in lead generation.

Paid advertising will allow you to get your website, company, or product/service to reach numerous people. This can be a good route to go for those looking for quick results.

However, a great way to ensure you’re getting your money’s worth is to research what will be the most beneficial.

This applies to PPC, or pay-per-click campaigns, boosting posts on social media, and everything in between.

Pay-per-click is essentially paying for people to visit your site. This is a good form of paid advertising as you will only pay when your advertisement gets clicked.

In other words, you’re not paying a fee just for having the ad. This method becomes more and more beneficial the higher your conversion rate is.

On social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, you can pay to boost or promote your posts to reach people that don’t follow you.

You pay a fee and then the site will take your post or advertisement and "boost" it by promoting it on the feeds of a set amount of people.

These people are usually determined by location and common interests. This can allow you to greatly increase the reach of your content and in turn generate more leads.

5. Email Marketing/Landing Pages:

Email marketing is still growing and should be done by every business, and done well. Email marketing is the tactic of sending emails to a potential or current customer to build a connection and keep them aware of certain offers and/or content.

Often times, these emails will contain a CTA or link to take the lead to the site. This can be to view content or to claim a given offer.

Any page that they are directed to in order to claim an offer and fill out a form is known as a landing page.

Landing pages are used to get information from a potential customer in exchange for an offer or a product.

These pages are typically when visitors are converted into leads. By using email marketing and landing pages cohesively, you will allow yourself to generate leads effectively and efficiently.

The number of leads being generated is crucial to the business that your company is doing. No leads means no business.
