5 Things Analytics Could Teach You About Your Website

By ZioSolutions

Analytics are a vital part to the growth of any business. With analytics you are able to see what’s working for your website and what’s not.

Whether it be simply changing the color of a page or something more intensive, using analytics can help you make changes that will get your site going in the right direction.

Here are 5 things analytics could teach you about your website:

1. Amount of Traffic:

The amount of traffic coming to your website directly affects the success of your website. Without visitors, your website won’t provide you with any leads.

It’s important to be able to track the amount of traffic coming to your site as this will show growth or decline and then allow you to make changes or improvements accordingly.

As you continue to increase the amount of traffic coming to your site, the amount of leads you are receiving will increase too.

As well as showing you the amount of traffic coming to your site, analytics can show you where that traffic is coming from.

This is beneficial as it can show you how much traffic you’re getting and what various sources that traffic is coming from.

For example, some of your traffic could be coming from social media sites and some of it could be coming from a posting site such as Yelp. Analytics can also show you the traffic you’re getting from different Google searches.

2. Keyword Analysis:

Keyword analysis is extremely advantageous as it will show you what keywords you are ranking for, how well you’re ranking for them, and the traffic you are getting for each.

This will show you how well or how poorly you are doing at reaching your keyword goals. It can also help you realize which keywords you should be targeting.

One of the biggest factors in Google Searches is keywords. The search results that come up on any given search are based on the combination of words and keywords the user is searching.

Every Google search is a new opportunity at getting visitors to your website. The more searches your site appears on as a result, the better.

How you rank for each of these searches is even more important. Ideally you want to rank on the first page for the keywords that you are targeting. How often the keyword is searched is also important.

Ranking first for a word that only gets searched five times a month might not be as beneficial as ranking fourth for a word that gets searched 1,500 times a month.

If the keywords you rank highly for are searched often, you will see a sizable amount of traffic on a monthly basis. The higher you rank the more traffic you will you get from that search result.

3. Click Rate:

Click Rate Analytics

Analytics can also show you the rate your audience clicks links, CTAs, or any other offer you may have for them.

This can show you how successful that “Subscribe to Our Newsletter” button or how well your social media post about a recent article is doing.

Knowing just how well these links are doing to get people to your page is extremely beneficial.

If your click rate is high, you can continue to improve on what is already working. If your click rate is low, then you know you need to make some changes and identify what’s causing the poor rate. Click rate should not be undervalued as a higher click rate means more leads.

4. Backlinks:

Backlinks are any link from another website back to yours. With analytics, you are able to see all of the backlinks you have.

Obtaining backlinks is important because it will increase the authority and credibility of your site.

Analytics will also allow you to see the backlinks you may not be getting credit for. The more backlinks you have and are getting credit for, the higher your authority.

5. Authority:

Analytics Tool Ahrefs

Your website’s authority includes your domain rating, url rating, and spam score. Different analytical tools, such as ahrefs, have slightly different algorithms but largely you are given a similar rating across the board.

You can increase your authority by creating quality content, obtaining quality backlinks, and increasing your website’s responsiveness.

The rating of your website is important because it will help you to rank in Google as higher authority websites are more likely to rank higher. This is because Google will view a higher authority website as more credible and secure.

Analytics allow a company to reflect on the work they are doing and improve as a result. Without analytics it would be hard to fully tell what is working and what is not.

They provide vital information which can directly affect the success of your website. Any company not using analytics to their full potential is missing out on a significant resource.
